Menomonie, WI—Gerrard Corporation is pleased to announce that after three years of development and construction, Phase Two of the Dancing Oaks Communities development is complete. A ribbon cutting was held Tuesday, July 12th to commemorate the opening of the two, twelve-unit buildings located in east Menomonie. The first phase of the project began in 2003 and was completed in 2006 with the construction of nine four-plex senior-living apartment homes.

Says Paul Gerrard, Vice President of Gerrard Corporation, “We’d like to extend a special thank you to the City of Menomonie for their patience during this project, and to Dunn County for their cooperation. We’re so excited to see this project come to fruition, and to help meet the housing needs of the area.”

The new single-story buildings include one, two, and three-bedroom units designed for general occupancy by families and seniors. Tenants enjoy central heating and air conditioning, in-floor radiant heat, a community room, a workout facility, a business center / theatre room, and beautifully landscaped outdoor space. Each unit includes an attached garage, while three-bedroom units offer a two-car attached garage. Heat and hot water, sewer, and trash collection costs are all included. The project was certified through the Wisconsin Green Build Homes Association, with energy-efficient features such as Energy Star appliances, excellent insulation, and compact florescent lighting. Many safety features are also included: grab bars are standard in the bathrooms, which are 100% ADA accessible.

According to Dave Hulverson, who, along with Mary Jo Rinholen serve as the caretakers/managers for Dancing Oaks Communities, “We also owe special thanks to the City of Menomonie Transit Department for providing a bus stop within one block of Dancing Oaks Communities. Gerrard Corporation’s goal with this project was to make these homes especially attractive to seniors, so easy access to reliable transportation is particularly important.” The new development includes market rate units that are being specially promoted to disabled veterans. Eligible tenants are able to take advantage of a supportive services plan which connects them with agencies that can provide help with things like lifting, depression, in-home health care, and clean linens.

Dancing Oaks Communities is currently fully occupied. For more information, to be placed on a waiting list, or to request a brochure, call 715-233-0406. Some income restrictions may apply.
